Since our inception in 2009, Relevant Pictures has been a hybrid production entity that has focused on non-fiction short and long form video. From promos and marketing spots to feature documentaries, we’re a soup to nuts team with a studio full of gear and some of the best crew in the business. Here are our specialties:

Post Production
We believe that every digital video project is different and continually embrace new technologies and strive to find the best solution to your specific post-production needs. We will evaluate your project and work with you to create a customized workflow. Then we’ll use our production staff and post resources to help see your project to completion. Relevant Pictures is based on a commitment to the Final Cut Pro platform. We are experts at HD editorial using Final Cut, After Effects, and Maya. And our in-depth knowledge of video workflow and project management will help make your project a success. Our technical infrastructure is fast and centralized, with a server-based environment that allows media to be moved quickly when a need arises. This allows our edit rooms to be quiet and comfortable. We also know how to tell a good story.

Motion Graphics
Virtually every project that walks in the door will have a need for motion graphic design at multiple points along the path. At Relevant, we’ve designed a workflow that allows projects to begin in either After Effects or Final Cut Pro and move between programs as necessary. Behind the box, we’ve designed a strong level of technical infrastructure to make sure that this transition is quick and painless. Our artists are amazing and can do it all: 2D/3D design, secondary color correction, FX, and typography design. They are champions of this multi-directional approach and love to take a project to unexpected levels of visual integration.

Promos & Branding
We collaborate with you to boil down your story and get eyes on your project — whether it’s a promo, trailer, show open, pitch, reel, title sequence, or explainer video. We’ll watch your work over and over, think about your audience, and help craft your message, be it serious, hilarious, PG, or a little edgy. At Relevant, it’s all about scoring, pacing, clear scripting, solid graphics and the best editors around.

Event Planning & Screenings
We throw a good party. As Cinema Speakeasy Co-Directors, we have curated, planned and executed sold out screenings in San Francisco, in conjunction with our Los Angeles partners. Our passion centers around independent film, documentary, and any movie that just plain kicks ass. And we especially like watching those said films with a group of people who appreciate the same. Project Management
Simply put: we can organize anything. Using a variety of project management software (or if the idea of that scares you, by making lists and setting goals), we are really good at developing processes that are simple, efficient and easy to maintain. Even our DVDs at home are in alphabetical order.
