Blakkbox Act 1 – Welcome To War
In July 2006, Current TV gave three young Americans known collectively as Blakkbox some money to travel to Lebanon during the height of the July War between the Israeli military and Hezbollah. This 7-episode series details what it’s like going into a war zone when everyone is heading out. Blakkbox speak to the people on the ground and get first hand knowledge of the things you typically don’t see on television.

BlakkBox Act 3 – 20 Ground Zeroes
After a night of serious bombing in the southern part of Beirut, Blakkbox goes to “Hezbollah Central” the suburb known as Haret Hreik. Home to Almanar TV and Hezbollah radio, this location was specifically targeted and destroyed. Even though the area was protected by guards carrying AK-47s and considered off-limits to network journalists, Blakkbox was able to get in and get the story.

Blakkbox Act 4 – Laughter under the Bombs
The citizens of Lebanon are constantly bombarded with propaganda, explosions and gunfire. The Blakkbox team goes to the streets to look into the effect that the environment has on the people. An interview with Sharif, a theatre teacher who looks after a group of children in Lebanon, sheds a dark light on the consequences of living in a place like Lebanon.

Blakkbox Act 5 – Moped Ride
After a week and a half of filming in Lebanon, the BlakkBox team decided it was time to send their footage back home before anything could happen to it or them. Sending the footage home would not be easy though as they quickly found out. To send the tapes home as fast as possible, Josh and Charlie grabbed some mopeds and headed out on a journey to the DHL in Damascus. This pod documents their 14-hour journey to Damascus.
